BLOODSTAINS Share Live At Vinyl Solution Livestream/In-store Demo 2020 Record Release Show (Bandcamp-only EP)

There really isn't too much to say here, but... BLOODSTAINS from Orange County, California have quickly become one of our personal favorite Punk/Hardcore bands around these parts. We were turned onto these guys, via our fellow writer Punk/Hip-Hop supporter Ben Merlis somewhere on Facebook. BLOODSTAINS consists of frontman Cesar Eduardo "Eddie" Marin, guitarist David Espinoza, bassist Nick Espinoza, and drummer Vince Catanho. BLOODSTAINS self-released their 3-song demo tape, simply titled Demo 2020, late last year and more recently, uploaded a $5.00 cassette tape to tehir Bandcamp page. It sounds like, in an ideal world, BLOODSTAINS would have liked to been able to play a proper album release show for Demo 2020.

"Unfortunately, due to restrictions, we can't have a proper release show for our demo tape we put out, but we will be live on Instagram tomorrow night, if you'd like to tune in and "stage dive" off your couch," Cesar Marin shared on Facebook. BLOODSTAINS' Beach Blvd. Session in-store performance at Vinyl Solution located in Huntington Beach, California was set to be livestreamed on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 7:00pm. We, here at The Witzard, unfortunately, missed it due to obligations to our newly-acquired "second job" (AKA parenthood,) but lucky for us and anyone else who may have missed it, BLOODSTAINS complete nearly 14-minute set has now been uploaded by YouTube user 1080punx HD.

BLOODSTAINS' set features the entirety of their aforementioned 3-track Demo 2020, as well as an instrumental intro medley and what appears to be a cover of Joy Division's "Warsaw." It's truly a riveting, frenzied performance from a new band most of us haven't been able to see live yet and who knows when we may be able to see in-person live shows again Nation-wide. BLOODSTAINS definitely remind us of The Misfits, Henry Rollins-era Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Descendents, Minor Threat, and Fugazi, but, at the same time, sound like something totally new and different. It's currently unclear what's next for BLOODSTAINS, but rest assured, it's gonna be awesome and we'll be here for it! BLOODSTAINS' Demo 2020 EP is now available exclusively on Bandcamp with cassettes at select record stores across California.
