“Hey, we have a new EP out today… CONFUSION/CHAOS/MISERY is out on @deathwishinc!!! Spotify and Apple Music are streaming the incorrect master at the moment, but it is being fixed as we speak. You can head over to YouTube and Bandcamp to hear the correct version. Stay tuned, there will be more to come,” The Hope Conspiracy (@thehopeconspiracy) Instagram account shared earlier this morning. It’s their 110% official Instagram and on the platform, is being proudly touted as, “maintained by the actual band members themselves.” Those currently being Jared Shavelson, Jim “Jimmy” Carroll, Jonas Feinberg, Kevin Baker & Neeraj Kane. First formed in 1999, The Hope Conspiracyaffectionately known as Hope Conwere often billed on many show flyers as “Screaming & Metal & Mosh - oh my! (ex-Harvest from Boston)” or something similar. Hope Con were briefly signed to Bridge Nine Records for a 2001 7-inch single/CD EP and two full-lengths between 2000-02 on Equal Vision Records, the band eventually signed to Deathwish, Inc. to release their widely acclaimed 2006 full-length, Death Knows Your Name, and 2009 EP, True Nihilist.

After nearly 14 years, The Hope Conspiracy have emerged from their bunker to a reality entangled by this unwavering truth. Since True Nihilist, members have been active in a multitude of bands including All Pigs Must Die, Hesitation Wounds, Lies, Paint It Black, Spiral Heads, Ways Away, and more. Efforts in the above may have kept them musically sharp, but it was the pressures and stresses of our present day dystopia that awoke The Hope Conspiracy. Serving as the catalyst for some of the most vicious songs they have ever created in their legendary career. Confusion/Chaos/Misery is a four-song EP by The Hope Conspiracy, engineered by Kurt Ballou (Converge) and Zach Weeks at God City Studios. Artwork for the release was created by acclaimed artist Alexander Heir (Death/Traitors). The title track is a sonically violent return to form for The Hope Conspiracy. Lyrically reading as scorched-Earth policy for the sociopolitical nightmare that entangles us all.

“A Struggle for Power” is a near-perfect D-Beat ripper, super-charged with palatable lyrical vitriol. While “Nail In The Coffin” ominously rumbles before bulldozing forward with immense power. The closer is a cover of the deep-cut classic “Dogfight,” penned by Swedish Crust legends Anti Cimex. A fitting track to re-visit amid these turbulent modern times. When all is said and done, this new chapter of The Hope Conspiracy comes into focus. Time passing has stripped away the unnecessary to reveal a Hardcore band in their most primal form yet. And this is just the beginning... The Confusion/Chaos/Misery EP is currently available in three different ONE colorful translucent purple vinyl 12-inch LP variants from Deathwish. fittingly dubbed CONFUSION, CHAOS, and MISERY. It appears as though the only difference in membership in-between 2009’s True Nihilist and this year’s Confusion/Chaos/Misery is guitarist “Handsome” Jim Carroll, who’s spent time making music with American Nightmare, The A-Team, and The Suicide File. The Hope Conspiracy’s Confusion/Chaos/Misery EP is now available in both digital and physical formats from Deathwish, Inc.

We’ll leave you with this; just remember,
“Your mind is not your own
Manipulated just like everyone else
What you think, what you know
A poison seed will grow and grow.”
